As an innovator who wants to help my community, I want to use mobile technology to make data from the Health Facility Registry available through all mobile phones in both English and Swahili so that everyone can access information about health facilities in Tanzania.

A mobile system that seeks to increase the use of the existing Health Facility Registry (HFR) System - and provide access to approved information about all health facilities in Mainland Tanzania. The developed mobile system will be based on the USSD technology thus accessible via all types of mobile phones and will be available in both Swahili and English.

We want to extend coverage of afyaBox to all of Tanzania, starting with the whole regions of Kilimanjaro and Arusha. We also plan to add features and services that were requested by the MOH and TAMISEMI to better connect communities and facilities. Specifically, afyaBox will provide on-demand transport service to the located health facility. With this feature, users will be given an option to select the type of transport they want. The second additional feature will be setting an appointment with the doctor prior to attending facilities. The third feature will enable patients to provide feedback to the respective personnel.
