Sosthenes Sambua

Mr. Sosthenes Sambua is the Executive Director of Tanzania Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness Centre (TECC). Prior to this position, he was a Programme Manager for The Business Development Gateway of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation’s (TPSF). Prior to this, he was the manager of the SME Competitiveness Facility (SCF), a matching grant fund to help SMEs meet export standards and develop trade. He has an MBA in Corporate Management. He has also completed short professional courses in SMEs consulting skills, Management of Business Development, entrepreneurship and enterprise development, knowledge management, EU export standards and business environment reforms.

He has more than 20 years of accumulated experience in counseling, advisory and consultancy services in the areas of private sector development, project management, and designing tailor-made entrepreneurship training for owner-managers of SMEs, business associations, and private sector organizations. He has worked with several PSOs around the country and has a vast network in all regions of Tanzania.

He is a member of the National Steering Committee of Innovative Systems and Clusters Programme, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Civil Societies. He is a member of an international team of trainers for cluster-based competitiveness in Africa and has conducted training in Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Mr. Sambua is currently the Secretary and Treasurer of the Executive Board of Pan African Competitiveness Forum (PACF) and Vice-chair of its chapter in Tanzania. Mr. Sambua also served in the inaugural Ministerial Advisory Board of Tanzania Forest Services (2012-2014).
